Man arrested on drug, DUI charges after Richmond crash

RICHMOND — State police arrested a Massachusetts man on multiple drug possession and driving under the influence charges following a motor vehicle accident Tuesday evening.

Patrick Morency, 42, of 379 Main Street apartment #3, Woburn, Massachusetts, was taken into custody at 7:58 p.m. by troopers from the Hope Valley Barracks.

Morency faces charges of possession of a Schedule I-V controlled substance for amounts of 10 grams or less for three different drugs: fentanyl, Xanax and Adderall.

He also was charged with driving under the influence of intoxicating liquor and/or drugs, first offense, with blood alcohol content unknown.

The arrest resulted from troopers responding to reports of an erratic operator and subsequent motor vehicle accident on Route 95 North in Richmond.

Morency was transported to Kent County Hospital for a blood draw and later returned to the Hope Valley Barracks where he was processed and held overnight pending a morning arraignment.
