PORTLAND — The Maine State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating a two-alarm residential fire that injured two adults Friday morning.
The fire occurred at 27 Broadway, prompting the Portland Fire Department to request assistance from state investigators.
First-arriving firefighters encountered heavy smoke and fire conditions at the single-family home around 8 a.m. Aug. 1.
Two adults who were inside the residence when crews arrived were transported to Maine Medical Center in Portland.
Their conditions are unknown at this time.
Investigators from the Fire Marshal’s Office and Portland Fire Department determined the cause was accidental, resulting from an electrical malfunction.
