Lebanon man stabbed in neck at Colburn Park, suspect at large

LEBANON — Emergency personnel responded to Colburn Park on Thursday morning after a man was stabbed in the neck.

The incident occurred at approximately 8:52 a.m. on July 31, according to the Lebanon Police Department.

The male victim was transported to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center with serious injuries.

Surveillance footage captured the suspect fleeing north through Colburn Park and across the CCBA parking lot and fields.

Police deployed a K-9 unit and drone to search the area.

Multiple reports indicated a male matching the suspect’s description was seen running southbound along Interstate 89.

Police identified the suspect as Dahlton Fairbank, 29, of Bristol, N.H.

Investigators learned Fairbank had been picked up from the interstate and transported to his Bristol residence.

Officers obtained a search warrant for Fairbank’s home with assistance from Bristol Police Department.

Fairbank had left the residence on foot before officers arrived.

During the search, police recovered clothing matching the description worn during the assault, the suspect’s cell phone and several edged weapons.

An arrest warrant has been issued for Fairbank on charges of first degree assault, second degree assault, felon in possession of a dangerous weapon and reckless conduct with a deadly weapon.

All charges are felony-level offenses.

Fairbank’s whereabouts remain unknown.

Police urge the public not to approach him as he is considered dangerous.
