DUXBURY — Officers were dispatched to Mile Brook Road at approximately 9:30 p.m. July 31 for a report of a male subject strangling a female in the hallway of an apartment complex.
Upon arrival, officers did not observe anyone in the hallway.
Dispatch advised that the involved parties were located in an apartment.
Officers contacted a resident who stated that a male, later identified as Brandon Wangnoon, had been in the hallway strangling a female resident.
She directed officers to the victim’s apartment.
Officers proceeded to that apartment, contacted the occupants, and identified the female victim.

Witnesses intervened and were able to separate Wangnoon from the victim, allowing her to escape to safety.
Officers conducted a search of the area and located Wangnoon nearby.
He was detained pending further investigation.
After interviewing the victim and multiple witnesses, officers placed 31-year-old Wangnoon from Duxbury under arrest.
He was charged with breaking and entering building nighttime for felony, strangulation or suffocation, and assault to murder.
