Driver suffers medical incident, crashes into pole in Vernon

VERNON — A Baldwinsville man was hospitalized Friday morning after suffering a suspected medical incident that caused his box truck to crash into a telephone pole.

Thomas Cliff, 51, was driving eastbound on Townline Road at approximately 9:19 a.m. when the medical incident occurred, according to Oneida County Sheriff Robert M. Maciol.

Cliff’s vehicle left the roadway and struck a telephone pole before coming to rest in a nearby field.

He was transported by VineAll Ambulance to Wynn Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries to his head and hand.

Patrol deputies were assisted at the scene by VineAll Ambulance, Vernon Fire Department and Rockers Automotive Rescue.

No tickets were issued.
