Lee man arrested on weapons charge after neighbor dispute

LEE — A 43-year-old man was arrested on weapons charges following a neighbor dispute July 30, according to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol.

Charles Santmyer of Lee was taken into custody after patrol deputies responded to the dispute around 10:30 p.m.

During their investigation, deputies learned Santmyer was holding a knife while arguing with another person.

Santmyer made several stabbing motions with the knife toward the other party, according to the sheriff’s office.

Santmyer was arrested and transported to the Oneida County Kurt B. Wyman Law Enforcement Building where he was processed on one count of criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree, a Class D felony.

He was then taken to the Oneida County Correctional Facility where he was held until CAP Court was in session.

Santmyer is scheduled to appear in Lee Town Court at a later date.
