HORSEHEADS — A 34-year-old Pennsylvania man was arrested Thursday on felony charges for allegedly stealing more than $4,000 from his former employer through fraudulent invoices.

Eric D. Erickson of Athens, Pennsylvania, faces charges of falsifying business records in the first degree, a Class E felony, and grand larceny in the third degree, a Class D felony, according to the Chemung County Sheriff’s Office.

A representative of Lindsey Equipment reported the alleged fraud to the sheriff’s office on Jan. 23.

The Criminal Investigation Division determined that while Erickson was employed as a service manager at Lindsey Equipment in 2024, he created fraudulent invoices for services and products the company provided.

Erickson used his own online payment service to accept payments for the invoices into his personal account, investigators said.

The investigation concluded that Erickson stole $4,235.37 through this method.

Erickson was arraigned Thursday in the Town of Horseheads Court.

He was released on his own recognizance and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Big Flats Court at a later date.
