ELMIRA — The Chemung County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of 62-year-old Terence R. Vang of Elmira on July 31 for multiple felony charges.
Vang faces charges of Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree, a class E felony, Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument in the Second Degree, and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the Third Degree, both class D felonies.
The Criminal Investigations Division received information from the Corning Police Department that they were investigating Vang in the City of Corning.
During the investigation, authorities discovered that Vang possessed and sold stolen property to a pawn shop within the City of Elmira.
Investigators later found that Vang also possessed and cashed a forged check at a bank in the Town of Southport, which belonged to the same victim who had her property stolen within the City of Corning.
The Criminal Investigations Division located Vang, who also had an active Superior Court warrant out of the City of Elmira.
Vang was taken into custody and turned over to the Elmira City Police Department on the active warrant.
He was ultimately remanded to the Chemung County Jail.
Vang will be arraigned by both the Town of Southport Court and the City of Elmira Court at a later date on the charges stemming from this case.
