2 arrested on drug charges after traffic stop in Ashford

ASHFORD — Two people were arrested on drug charges after a traffic stop early Wednesday morning on Connoisarauley Road.

Jesse C. Bartlett Sr., 57, of Great Valley, and Jessie J. Fuller, 41, of Napoli, were charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the second degree, according to the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies stopped the vehicle Bartlett was driving at about 3:14 a.m.

After interviewing the driver and passenger, deputies developed reasonable suspicion and requested assistance from K9 Lex.

The dog conducted an open-air sniff around the exterior of the vehicle and indicated the presence of narcotics.

Deputies searched the vehicle and found approximately 4.115 ounces of suspected methamphetamine.

Both suspects were taken into custody without incident and transported to the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office for processing.

They were arraigned in Town of Ellicottville Court and remanded to the Cattaraugus County Jail without bail.
