Woman cited for driving 110 mph on Berlin interstate

BERLIN — A Quebec woman was cited for excessive speed after Vermont State Police clocked her driving 110 mph on Interstate 89 North on July 28.

Marie-cleante Marcelin, 34, was stopped without incident near mile marker 42 in Williamstown at approximately 6:08 p.m., according to police.

Troopers from the Berlin Barracks were conducting speed enforcement in the area where the posted speed limit is 65 mph.

Officers used LIDAR to confirm the vehicle’s speed before making the traffic stop.

Marcelin was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Berlin Barracks for processing.

She was released with a criminal citation to appear in Orange County Superior Court – Criminal Division on Aug. 27 at 8:30 a.m. to answer charges of excessive speed and negligent operation.
