UTICA — A 53-year-old man was arrested on drug charges July 28 after fleeing from police during a narcotics operation in the Oneida Square area.
Investigators from the Special Investigations Unit were conducting operations related to the ongoing sale and distribution of narcotics when they located their target at approximately 1:25 p.m.
Officers attempted to stop the suspect, but he fled on foot.
The man ran into the basement of a nearby residence, where he was found and taken into custody.
Nicky Woods of Utica was transported to the Utica Police Department and charged with two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree for sale and weight, and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree.
