LAKE PLACID — Members of the New York State Police arrested Kevin P. Prime, 33, of Lake Placid, on July 26 on charges of second-degree burglary, criminal mischief, and second-degree criminal contempt.
On July 25 at approximately 2:19 p.m., troopers responded to Mount Whitney Way in the town of North Elba for a domestic dispute.
Their investigation revealed that Prime had entered a residence without permission.
While inside, he engaged in a verbal argument with the victim.
When the victim went outside, Prime followed.
The victim got into a vehicle for safety, which made Prime more upset, and he started to strike the car, causing damage.
The victim managed to drive away and contact law enforcement.
Further investigation revealed that an active order of protection was in place against Prime, which had been issued to protect the victim.
Prime was arrested and taken to SP Ray Brook for processing.
He was arraigned in the Town of Wilmington Court and was remanded to the Essex County Jail, where his bail was set at $2,500 cash, a fully secured bond of $5,000, or a partially secured bond of $10,000.
