Morrisonville man arrested on weapon, drug charges in Clinton

CLINTON — Members of the New York State Police arrested Chad A. Matton, a 35-year-old resident of Morrisonville, on July 25.

He was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a weapon due to a previous conviction, four counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, and third-degree bail jumping.

At approximately 1:16 a.m., troopers responded to Route 189 in the town of Clinton to assist U.S. Border Patrol with a traffic stop.

An investigation determined Matton was in possession of a stun gun and narcotics.

Further investigation revealed Matton had an active warrant out of the Town of Altona Court.

Matton was arrested and transported to SP Champlain for processing.

He was arraigned in the Town of Champlain Court and remanded to the Clinton County Jail.
