2 juveniles cited for negligent operation in Sheldon

SHELDON — Two 18-year-old drivers were cited for negligent operation after Vermont State Police clocked them traveling 97 mph in a 50 mph zone on Route 105.

The incident occurred at approximately 1:17 a.m. July 27 near Colton Road.

Troopers were conducting speed enforcement when they observed the two vehicles traveling in excess of the speed limit.

Radar confirmed both vehicles were traveling 47 mph over the posted speed limit and operating in a negligent manner.

Traffic stops were conducted on both vehicles.

One driver was from Enosburg and the other from Essex.

Both operators were issued citations to appear in Franklin County Superior Court on Sept. 8.
