UTICA — Utica police and fire officials responded to a stabbing investigation on the 1100 block of Lenox Ave at about 5:30 p.m. July 20.
Upon arrival, authorities met a female victim who stated she had been involved in an argument with another woman on the 1200 block of Gray Ave.
During the argument, the victim was stabbed in the head and fled the scene.
The Utica Fire Department transported the victim to Wynn Hospital, where police determined her injuries were not life threatening.
The case was turned over to the Criminal Investigations Division.
Police identified and located the suspect, Athya Sullivan, 35, of Utica, on July 23.
Sullivan was charged with assault in the second degree and criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree.
