SARATOGA COUNTY — The Sheriff’s Office responded to an assault call Monday at 11:20 a.m. on state Route 67 in the town of Malta.
An investigation led to the arrest of John F. Anderson, 61, of Mechanicville, N.Y., on a charge of attempted assault in the 2nd degree, a class E felony.
Anderson is accused of intentionally attempting to cause physical injury to another person by punching them in the face after an incident described as road rage.
Authorities said the victim was reportedly 65 years of age or older and Anderson was more than 10 years younger.
Anderson was released on an appearance ticket pending further proceedings in Malta Town Court.
