Hyde Park drug raid nets Poughkeepsie woman on felony charges

HYDE PARK — A 31-year-old Poughkeepsie woman was arrested July 23 following a drug raid at a local motel, according to the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office.

Yelonnie Johnson was taken into custody without incident after Drug Task Force agents executed a search warrant at the motel room.

The investigation began after the Drug Task Force received information about ongoing drug sales at a motel in Hyde Park and surrounding areas.

Drug Task Force agents conducted undercover purchases of narcotics from Johnson before obtaining the search warrant for her residence.

Agents seized cocaine, packaging materials and scales used for drug distribution during the search.

Johnson was charged with one count of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, a class B felony.

She was arraigned in Hyde Park Town Court and later released to probation supervision as required by state law.

The Drug Task Force was assisted by multiple agencies including the Dutchess County District Attorney’s Office Dangerous Drugs and Violent Crime Unit, the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office Road Patrol Bureau, New York State Police Community Stabilization Unit, and police departments from Beacon, Fishkill, East Fishkill, Hyde Park and Poughkeepsie.
