Bath man arrested after threatening to burn house, resisting police

BATH — Bath Police Officers were dispatched to an address on Liberty Street on July 21 around 4:50 p.m. for a report of a male threatening to burn down the caller’s house.

The suspect was quickly located by a Bath Police Officer on West William Street.

The suspect attempted to flee the officer after getting verbal commands to stop.

The suspect was then advised that he was under arrest and engaged in a physical altercation with the officer.

The suspect was eventually apprehended.

Brett Simons, 35, of Bath was charged with obstruction of governmental administration 2nd and resisting arrest, both class A misdemeanors.

He was processed and released on appearance tickets.
