HOMER — New York State Police arrested Kimberlee Pontello, 37, of Liverpool on July 23 on two arrest warrants for the Class E felony of grand larceny in the fourth degree.
At approximately 3:11 a.m. July 23, Pontello was originally stopped by a trooper from State Police Fulton after the trooper observed a vehicle making vehicle and traffic violations on State Street in the village of Phoenix.
The trooper made a traffic stop on Davis Street when Pontello provided a fake name.
Through an investigation, the trooper determined that she lied about her identity.
Pontello was arrested and charged with the misdemeanor of criminal impersonation in the second degree.
Pontello was issued appearance tickets to Phoenix Village Court then turned over to troopers from State Police Homer on the charges from the arrest warrants.
In May, troopers from State Police Homer were advised that on several occasions Pontello stole merchandise from Marshalls in Cortlandville.
On April 25, Pontello took 73 items totaling over $1,100 and on May 10, Pontello stole 55 items that totaled over $1,300.
On both occasions, Pontello passed all points of sale without making any attempt to pay for the items.
She was processed at State Police Homer and transferred to the Cortland County Jail for centralized arraignment.
