STAMFORD — The Stamford Police Department arrested one of its own officers Wednesday on charges stemming from a domestic violence incident.
Officer Gregory Zach was charged with strangulation in the 2nd degree, threatening in the 2nd degree (2 counts), assault in the 3rd degree (4 counts) and disorderly conduct (3 counts).
He was released from custody on a $10,000 bond.
Zach is scheduled to appear in court Thursday in Stamford.
The officer has been with the Stamford Police Department since July 2005.
He is currently on administrative leave pending an administrative inquiry.
“The Stamford Police Department takes allegations of domestic violence very seriously and we will continue to work with and support the victim in this matter,” Chief Timothy Shaw said in a statement.
