Bath police arrest man on West Steuben Street in contempt case

BATH — Officers with the Bath Police Department observed a male operating a vehicle around 3:05 p.m. July 22 on West Steuben Street, who they knew to have a suspended license.

During the traffic stop, police identified a passenger in the vehicle as the protected party in a stay away order of protection against the driver.

The driver, Chancy Seager, 37, of Bath, was taken into custody on charges of Aggravated Unlicensed Operator 3rd, an unclassified misdemeanor, and Criminal Contempt 1st, a class E felony due to a prior conviction.

Seager was processed at the police department and transported to the Steuben County Jail, where he was held without bail.
