STOCKHOLM — New York State Police arrested Hayden J. Ayers, 20, of Brasher Falls, on July 21 for criminal contempt in the first degree, criminal mischief in the fourth degree and harassment in the second degree.
Troopers responded to State Highway 420 in Stockholm at approximately 10:17 a.m. for a report of a domestic dispute.
An investigation determined Ayers and the victim were involved in a verbal argument which led to Ayers becoming irate and damaging items that did not belong to him.
Further investigation determined that an active order of protection was in place protecting the victim from Ayers, which he was violating.
Ayers fled the scene prior to law enforcement arriving.
Troopers located Ayers, arrested him and transported him to State Police Massena for processing.
He was arraigned in Stockholm Town Court, where he was remanded to St. Lawrence County Jail in lieu of $2,500 cash or $5,000 bond.
