PLEASANT VALLEY — A New Jersey man was arrested Tuesday after a drug task force raid at an apartment complex netted cocaine and drug distribution materials.
William Oliver, 33, was taken into custody without incident during the execution of a search warrant at Pleasant Valley Garden Apartments at 2038 Route 44.
The Dutchess County District Attorney’s Office Drug Task Force began investigating Oliver after conducting multiple undercover narcotics purchases from him at the apartment complex.
Drug Task Force agents, assisted by the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Service Unit, seized cocaine along with packaging materials and scales used for drug distribution.
Oliver was charged with one count of criminal sale of a controlled substance in the third degree, a class B felony, and one count of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fourth degree, a class C felony.
Additional charges are pending against Oliver related to the investigation.
Oliver was arraigned in Pleasant Valley Town Court and later released as required by New York state law.
The Drug Task Force was assisted by multiple agencies including the Dutchess County District Attorney’s Office Dangerous Drugs and Violent Crime Unit, the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office Road Patrol Bureau, New York State Police Community Stabilization Unit, and police departments from Beacon, Fishkill, East Fishkill, Hyde Park and Poughkeepsie.
The Pleasant Valley building department also assisted in the investigation.
