WHEELOCK — Vermont State Police are investigating after concrete barriers blocking an unsafe bridge were moved sometime between July 14 and July 16.
The barriers were placed to block the bridge on Fall Brook Road after it was damaged in flooding the previous week.
State Bridge Inspectors had deemed the bridge unsafe to use and homeowners in the area were notified of the closure.
Police say someone removed the concrete barriers, allowing people to drive over the unsafe bridge.
The investigation revealed the barriers had not been stolen but were pushed over the bank into tall grass.
Vermont State Police are asking anyone with information regarding this incident to contact Trooper Jason Haley of the St. Johnsbury Barracks at 802-748-3111.
