WORCESTER — Worcester Police officers arrested a 61-year-old man July 19 after a reported residential break-in on Ericcson Street.

Officers were dispatched to the area at about 9 a.m. for a report of a break-in in progress at a vacant residence.

Someone observed a male entering the residence on a security camera and provided dispatch with a description of the suspect.

Upon arrival, officers received information that a loud crash had been heard at the address shortly before their arrival.

Officers observed a shattered glass patio door at the residence.

In the area, officers located Thomas Marnalse of Ruthven Avenue, who matched the description of the suspect pictured in the security footage.

Officers developed probable cause that Marnalse had entered the residence and taken items that did not belong to him.

He was arrested on charges of breaking and entering in the daytime to commit a felony and larceny from a building.
