PARIS — A 16-year-old Utica motorcyclist was airlifted to a Syracuse hospital after failing to yield the right of way and colliding with a car at the intersection of State Route 8 and Oneida Street on July 21 at around 12 p.m.
The juvenile was operating a 2024 Taro motorcycle eastbound on Oneida Street when he attempted to cross State Route 8, according to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol.
Susan Carney, 62, of West Winfield was driving a 2009 Volkswagen southbound on State Route 8 when the motorcycle collided with the front of her vehicle.
The teen sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported by Mercy Flight to SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse.
Carney was not injured in the crash.
The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by Edwards Ambulance and the Clayville Fire Department.
The juvenile’s name was not released due to his age.
