Kensington woman faces reinstated charges after violating plea agreement

1 min read

KENSINGTON — Kensington Police Department announced today that Lisa Verkouille age 49 of Rockingham County, has violated the terms of a previously agreed-upon plea agreement by committing additional criminal offenses.

As a result, the original charges that were conditionally set aside under the agreement are being reinstated and will now proceed through the judicial process.

The initial plea agreement, entered into on Nov. 7, 2024, was contingent upon the defendant complying with specific conditions, including lawful behavior and avoidance of further criminal activity.

However, on April 19, Verkouille was arrested and charged with Theft of Services (Class B Misdemeanor), Simple Assault (Class B Misdemeanor), and Disorderly Conduct (Violation) which constitutes a direct breach of the plea terms.

Furthermore, Verkouille is currently being investigated for additional misdemeanors in a neighboring town.

With the reinstatement of the original charges — which include Theft by Unauthorized Taking (Class B Misdemeanor) — Verkouille now faces prosecution on both the prior and the new allegations.

Court proceedings will be scheduled in accordance with state law.
