FAIR HAVEN — Police arrested a 35-year-old man July 18 following a domestic dispute on West Street.
Carl J. Stockwell of Fair Haven was charged with domestic assault, unlawful restraint and interference with access to emergency services.
Police responded to West Street at 2:30 a.m. for a reported domestic dispute.
Through investigation, police learned Stockwell allegedly got into a physical altercation with another person, causing injury.
Stockwell allegedly took the victim’s phone to stop them from calling for help and refused to allow them to leave the home.
Stockwell fled the scene when police arrived.
Police located Stockwell on West Street at 12 p.m. the same day.
Stockwell was arrested and brought to Rutland District Court for arraignment.
