WHEELOCK — Vermont State Police are investigating the theft of concrete barriers that were blocking an unsafe bridge on Fall Brook Road.
The barriers were removed sometime between July 14 and July 16.
The bridge was damaged in flooding last week and deemed unsafe by state bridge inspectors.
Homeowners in the area were notified that the bridge was unsafe to use.
Police said the investigation revealed that someone removed the concrete barriers and people have been driving over the unsafe bridge.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Trooper Jason Haley of the St. Johnsbury Barracks at 802-748-3111.
