GROTON — The Town of Groton Police Department has referred an investigation involving an off-duty law enforcement officer from another jurisdiction to the state’s attorney’s office.
The incident occurred Friday, July 11, and involved the off-duty officer and two men who were filming at his residence.
Police have provided the Office of the State’s Attorney for the New London Judicial District with all records and materials related to the incident.
The State’s Attorney’s Office will determine whether further criminal action is warranted.
The Town of Groton Police Department will also conduct a thorough review of its response to the incident, consistent with department policy following major incidents.
Chief L.J. Fusaro Jr. said the department remains committed to transparency and accountability and will continue to cooperate fully as the case proceeds.
The case remains under active investigation.
