Boston police seek help identifying suspect in downtown purse theft

BOSTON — The Boston Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying an individual in connection with a larceny investigation at Post Office Square.

The incident occurred at approximately 12:51 p.m. on Saturday, May 24, at the Sip Cafe located at 0 Post Office Square in Downtown Boston.

According to the victim, while seated at a table outside the cafe, she placed her purse on the ground next to her.

Shortly afterward, she discovered the purse was missing.

Investigation revealed that a tall white male, wearing dark-colored clothing and riding a blue bicycle, was observed entering the cafe with the stolen purse, purchasing a drink, and then leaving the premises.

Detectives assigned to District A-1 are actively reviewing the facts and circumstances surrounding this incident.
