SUMMERHILL — Sheriff Brian Schenck reports that on July 12 at around 8:02 p.m., members of the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office arrested Justin D. Kellogg, age 39, on two arrest warrants out of the Town of Summerhill.
The first arrest warrant was for criminal contempt in the first degree, an E felony.
The second arrest warrant was for criminal contempt in the second degree, an A misdemeanor, along with aggravated family offense, an E felony.
Kellogg was also charged with another count of criminal contempt in the second degree, an A misdemeanor, and aggravated family offense, an E felony, on his arrest date.
On May 15 around 10:52 p.m., members of the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of an order of protection violation in the Town of Summerhill.
It was determined that Justin D. Kellogg had been sending threatening text messages to the protected party of a full stay-away order of protection.
Kellogg had been previously advised in court of the contents and stipulations of the order of protection.
Sheriff’s Office members attempted to contact Kellogg but received no cooperation from him.
An arrest warrant was then applied for and granted for criminal contempt in the first degree.
On May 18 around 8:20 p.m., members of the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office responded to the same address in the Town of Summerhill for another report of a violation of the same order of protection.
This investigation revealed that Justin D. Kellogg was still contacting the protected party of the order of protection via text message.
Sheriff’s Office members continued to attempt to make contact with Kellogg, again receiving no cooperation.
An arrest warrant for criminal contempt in the second degree and aggravated family offense was then applied for and granted due to a prior conviction of a specified offense related to a domestic incident.
