MACOMB — A Fort Drum man died after losing control of his motorcycle on State Route 58 on July 12.
Jeffrey C. Lopez, 31, was riding his blue 2024 Yamaha Chappy motorcycle south on State Route 58 at approximately 7:09 p.m. when he failed to negotiate a turn, according to New York State Police.
Lopez lost control of the motorcycle, causing both him and the bike to exit the road and slide into the guardrails.
New York State Police administered life-saving measures to Lopez until Gouverneur Rescue arrived and continued the effort.
He was transported to Gouverneur Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The investigation is ongoing.
