Greenburgh police rescue more than 30 from flooding

GREENBURGH — The Greenburgh Police Department rescued more than 30 people during storm-related flooding incidents between 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. Monday.

The rescues included adults and several children from both vehicles and premises, according to a police department press release issued Tuesday.

Some people were rescued from basement apartments that were actively flooding.

Police officers used rescue equipment and special operations vehicles during the operations.

The rescue locations included Route 119 as it passes under Knollwood Road, the Hayes Street and Lamont Avenue intersection in Elmsford, and Knollwood Road near Westchester Community College.
