DERBY LINE — A motorcyclist suffered minor injuries when a car failed to stop at a stop sign and pulled into his path Tuesday evening.
The crash occurred at 7:09 p.m. at the intersection of Caswell Avenue and the Interstate 91 Exit 29 north off-ramp under clear skies and dry road conditions.
Adeline Poginy, 24, of Derby Line was driving a 2006 BMW 530xi off the I-91 north off-ramp prior to the crash, according to Vermont State Police.
Nicholas Nobaris, 30, of Derby was traveling east on Caswell Avenue on a 2000 Kawasaki Vulkan 800 motorcycle when Poginy’s vehicle pulled in front of him.
Nobaris attempted to stop but crashed into the driver’s side rear door of the BMW.
The motorcycle was totaled in the crash while the BMW sustained damage to its rear driver side door.
Nobaris suffered a minor leg injury and was taken to North Country Hospital.
Poginy was issued a Vermont Civil Violation Complaint for failing to stop at a stop sign and failing to yield right of way.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection and Newport Ambulance assisted at the scene.
