20-year-old drowns after jumping from bridge in Parishville

PARISHVILLE — New York State Police responded to a body of water near State Route 72 on July 12 at approximately 3:28 p.m. following a report of a possible drowning incident.

An investigation revealed that Conner S. Hendershot, a 20-year-old from St. Regis Falls, had jumped off a bridge into the water while swimming with friends and did not resurface.

Parishville Rescue deployed water rescue personnel and initiated a search for Hendershot.

He was located submerged, and life-saving measures were administered by St. Lawrence County Deputies, who were on the scene.

Parishville EMTs continued these efforts; however, Hendershot was ultimately pronounced deceased at the scene by the St. Lawrence County Coroner.

The investigation is ongoing.

New York State Police were assisted by the St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department and the Parishville Rescue Department.
