Newark Valley pair arrested on child endangerment charges

NEWARK VALLEY — Two people were arrested July 7 on charges of endangering the welfare of a child and disorderly conduct following a domestic disturbance investigation.

Terry Blackwell, 39, of Newark Valley, was charged with endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor, and disorderly conduct, a violation.

Sheena Cannavino, 27, of Newark Valley, was charged with endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor, and disorderly conduct, a violation.

The Tioga County Sheriff’s Office said the charges resulted from an investigation into a complaint of a domestic disturbance.

During the investigation, authorities found that Blackwell engaged in a physical domestic incident in the presence of juvenile children.

Investigators also determined that Cannavino engaged in a physical domestic incident while in the presence of her juvenile children.

Both were processed at the Tioga County Jail and released on appearance tickets.

They are scheduled to appear in Town of Newark Valley Court with Justice Schaffer on July 24.
