Bath police arrest man on animal cruelty charges

BATH — Officers with the Village of Bath Police Department arrested Zachariah Cole, age 33, on an active arrest warrant following an animal cruelty investigation on July 9 at approximately 12:30 p.m.

It is alleged that Cole failed to provide proper sustenance in the form of food, water and shelter, to three dogs in his care.

Cole is charged with one count of Agriculture and Market Law 353-Failure to Provide Proper Sustenance, a Class A Misdemeanor.

Cole was arraigned in Bath Village Court and was released.

Bath PD officers had seized the dogs prior to Cole’s arrest pursuant to a Bath Village Court search and seizure warrant.

The Bath Police Department reported that all three dogs are safe and in good health.
