2 car fires extinguished in Pleasantville accident

PLEASANTVILLE — The Pleasantville Volunteer Fire Department responded to a two-car accident with vehicle fires on Bear Ridge Road at 5:47 p.m. July 11.

Cars 2371 and 2372, along with Rescue 47 and Engine 90, responded to the scene while members were preparing for the Mount Kisco Fire Department Parade.

Both vehicles involved in the accident were on fire when crews arrived.

Fire crews had water on the fires and secured a positive water source within approximately one minute of arrival.

Pleasantville Ambulance handled patient care at the scene.

Units operated on scene for roughly one hour before returning to service in time to participate in the parade.

At 10:38 p.m., the department also responded to a report of smoke odor in a residence.

Searches found no source for the odor.

Units E91, TL5 and R47 responded to the second call.
