Providence troopers make 5 arrests over weekend for DUI, hit-and-run incidents

PROVIDENCE — Rhode Island State Police arrested five people over the weekend on charges ranging from driving under the influence to hit-and-run crashes.

On Saturday, July 12 at 10:43 a.m., troopers arrested Shald McKenny, 46, of 7 Ledge Street, Providence, for reckless driving, obstruction of an officer in the execution of duty, forgery and counterfeiting of registration plates, driving with a suspended/revoked/cancelled license- 4th+ offense, and vandalism.

The arrest was the result of a follow-up investigation into an attempted motor vehicle stop where McKenny fled the scene.

McKenny was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks, arraigned as a violator and then transported to the Adult Correctional Institution Intake Center.

On Saturday, July 12 at 5:43 p.m., troopers arrested Andrew King, 32, of 7 Olneyville Square, Providence, for failure to stop for an accident resulting in damage to an attended vehicle (two counts), driving under the influence of intoxicating liquor and/or drugs BAC unknown, resisting arrest, assault of police officer and other official and simple assault and/or battery (three counts).

The arrest was the result of a follow-up investigation into two hit and run motor vehicle crashes and locating King near his residence.

King was treated at Fatima Hospital, processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks and held overnight pending arraignment as a probation violator.

On Sunday, July 13 at 12:39 a.m., troopers arrested Jahmen Palencia Morales, 45, of 393 Bishop Avenue, Bridgeport, Connecticut, for driving under the influence of intoxicating liquor and/or drugs with a BAC .10 to .15 (Phase I = .130, Phase II = .121).

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Union Avenue in Providence.

Palencia Morales was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks, arraigned, and then released into the custody of a responsible adult pending a future date at the Sixth Division District Court.

On Sunday, July 13 at 1:17 a.m., troopers arrested Osiris Cabral Dominguez, 59, of 32 Law Street, Warwick, for forgery and counterfeiting of registration plates.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Cranston Street in Providence.

Cabral Dominguez was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks, arraigned and released pending a future date at the Sixth Division District Court.

On Sunday, July 13 at 3:24 a.m., troopers arrested Tammara Olivos, 38, of 70 Walnut Street, Johnston, for driving under the influence of intoxicating liquor and/or drugs BAC unknown and refusal to submit to a chemical test.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Route 95 in Providence.

Olivos was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks, arraigned, and released into the custody of a responsible adult pending a future date at the Sixth Division District Court.
