NORWALK — An 84-year-old woman died after being struck by a pickup truck while crossing a driveway on Connecticut Avenue on July 12.
Norwalk Combined Dispatch received multiple 911 calls at 10:16 a.m. reporting a pedestrian had been struck by a pickup truck in the area of 133 Connecticut Avenue.
Norwalk Police, Norwalk Fire Department and Norwalk Hospital EMS responded to the scene.
First responders located the pedestrian, identified as Josephine Pimpinella, and provided emergency medical care.
Pimpinella sustained serious injuries and was transported by ambulance to Norwalk Hospital, where she later died.
Norwalk Police Crash Reconstruction Unit officers and detectives responded to canvas the area for witnesses and surveillance footage.
Based on the preliminary investigation, Pimpinella was struck by the pickup truck while crossing the driveway of 133 Connecticut Avenue.
