PRINCETOWN — State Police arrested a 20-year-old Schenectady man Thursday on charges of possessing child sexual exploitation images.

Matthew L. Ivener was charged with possessing a sexual performance by a child, a class E felony.

The arrest followed an investigation that began with a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

State Police executed a search warrant at Ivener’s Schenectady residence Thursday.

The investigation involved the Troop G Computer Crimes Unit, the Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

Ivener was transported to State Police Princetown where he was processed.

He was issued an appearance ticket returnable to Schenectady City Court on Aug. 6 and released.
