NORWALK — A 38-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the theft of approximately $86,000 in construction equipment from a Norwalk site.
Robert Pekar of 1 Palmieri Road in Westport was arrested Friday without incident at his residence with assistance from the Westport Police Department.
The investigation began in May following a report of stolen construction equipment from a site at 677 Connecticut Avenue.
Detective Taylor was assigned as the lead investigator and developed Pekar as a suspect through a coordinated effort with the Monroe Police Department.
After establishing probable cause, Detective Taylor secured an arrest warrant.
Pekar was charged with larceny in the first degree and larceny of a motor vehicle.
He was held on $100,000 bond with a court date scheduled for July 23.
