Delhi man charged with impaired driving after April rollover crash

DELHI — A 31-year-old South Kortright man has been charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs following a single-vehicle rollover crash that occurred April 14 at approximately 11:57 p.m. in front of 219 Main Street.

Joshua R. Pope was arrested July 1 by the Delhi Police Department after toxicology results confirmed the presence of THC, fentanyl, and hydrocodone in his system at the time of the crash.

Responding officers found Pope standing near the scene with visible injuries and exhibiting signs of impairment.

Delhi Fire Department and EMS transported Pope to O’Connor Hospital for evaluation.

While at the hospital, Pope consented to a blood draw after being advised of his rights related to driving while ability impaired and driving while intoxicated investigations.

The Delhi Police Department received the toxicology results June 15.

Pope was fingerprinted, processed, and served with an appearance ticket returnable to Delhi Town Court July 22 at 9:00 a.m.
