BATH — The Steuben County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 43-year-old Caton man July 10 following a report of a person at a retail establishment requesting help.
Thomas R. Whitehead of Marsh Road was charged with robbery in the third degree, a class D felony, unlawful imprisonment in the first degree, a class E felony, criminal obstruction of breathing and petit larceny.
Sheriff Jim Allard said deputies responded after someone reported needing assistance at a retail location.
Authorities allege Whitehead held another person against their will, forcibly stole property from them and choked them.
Whitehead was arraigned in the Centralized Arraignment Court and remanded to the Steuben County Jail.
