SOMERSET — A 53-year-old woman was arrested Tuesday on human trafficking and prostitution charges following a months-long investigation into a massage business.
Yuehong Wang was taken into custody during the execution of search and arrest warrants at Lotus Flower Body Works at 1680 Grand Army Highway.
The investigation began in March when Somerset Police Department detectives and U.S. Naval Criminal Investigative Service special agents from Newport, Rhode Island, began looking into possible human trafficking at the business.
Wang is charged with trafficking of a person for sexual servitude, deriving support from prostitution, two counts of sexual conduct for a fee, aiding and permitting a nuisance, and keeping a house of ill fame.
Police seized $51,444 in cash along with ledgers and other evidence during the search.
Wang listed the same address as the business as her residence.
Somerset Police Detective Donald Cormier led the investigation and authored both warrants.
Connecticut State Trooper Frederick Jones and his currency detection dog Freda assisted in the search.
Plymouth Police Officer Fuming Chen provided translation services during the warrant execution.
Detectives also identified an associated location in Tyngsborough, Massachusetts, where local detectives launched a parallel investigation.
