RHINEBECK — The New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation announced the arrests of two people following a comprehensive investigation into an ongoing domestic dispute.
Anna M. Thompson, 28, of Poughkeepsie, and Michael McDonough-Ewald, 29, of Red Hook, were arrested after investigators determined both individuals engaged in criminal conduct during the course of their relationship.
Thompson was arrested July 3 and charged with endangering the welfare of a child, a class A misdemeanor.
She was arraigned in Dutchess County Family Court and released on her own recognizance.
Thompson is scheduled to appear in court July 23 at 2 p.m.
McDonough-Ewald was arrested July 8 and charged with strangulation in the second degree, a class D felony.
He also faces charges of criminal mischief in the second degree, a class D felony, and offering a false instrument for filing in the first degree, a class E felony.
Additional charges include two counts of assault in the third degree, two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, forgery in the third degree, offering a false instrument for filing in the second degree and stalking in the fourth degree.
McDonough-Ewald was arraigned in Dutchess County Family Court and released under the supervision of the Dutchess County Probation Department.
He is scheduled to return to court Wednesday, July 23, at 3 p.m.
