ROOT — State Police arrested a 37-year-old Root man June 29 after he allegedly fired a gun twice during an argument and damaged lawn equipment.
Nathaniel J. Lesinski was charged with reckless endangerment of property, criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree, menacing in the second degree, reckless endangerment in the second degree, criminal mischief in the fourth degree and harassment in the second degree.
Troopers responded to a residence in Root at about 10:57 a.m. for a report of an altercation involving a firearm.
The investigation determined that Lesinski and the victim were involved in a verbal altercation.
During the argument, Lesinski reportedly retrieved a firearm and threatened the victim.
Before leaving the location, Lesinski allegedly recklessly discharged the firearm twice, causing more than $250 worth of damage to a piece of lawn equipment.
The victim was not injured during the incident.
Lesinski was taken into custody in Cobleskill and transported to State Police Fonda for processing.
He was arraigned at Root Town Court and released on his own recognizance.
