NORTH HAVEN — A 36-year-old New Britain man was arrested this morning in connection with a vehicle theft that was reported in late March.

Omari Matthews was taken into custody and charged with larceny, according to the North Haven Police Department.

He was held on a $10,000 court-set bond.

The case began in late March when patrol officers took a report of a vehicle that was not returned after being loaned to an acquaintance.

The vehicle owner had made numerous attempts to contact the acquaintance but claimed to have been blocked by phone and social media.

At the time of reporting, the acquaintance had possessed the vehicle for approximately six weeks.

The vehicle was subsequently reported stolen.

In May, the vehicle was located unoccupied in Waterbury.
