Moriah woman charged with stabbing sleeping victim

MORIAH — Members of the New York State Police arrested 53-year-old Bonnie J. Hash from Mineville on charges of attempted robbery in the second degree, assault in the second degree, and criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree.

At approximately 1 a.m. July 7, the New York State Police received a report of a stabbing incident at a residence on Plank Road in the town of Moriah.

The investigation revealed that Hash stabbed the victim in the left shoulder while the victim was sleeping.

When the victim attempted to escape from Hash by getting into a vehicle, Hash got into the passenger seat of the car and refused to exit the vehicle.

The victim drove to the Ticonderoga Police Department.

Upon arrival at the police station, Hash fled the scene.

The victim reported the incident at the Ticonderoga Police Department, where officers advised the victim to seek medical treatment for the stab wound.

The Ticonderoga Police Department then notified the State Police about the case.

State Police members responded to the Elizabethtown Community Hospital – Ticonderoga Emergency Room to interview the victim.

The victim was medically treated for a non-life-threatening stab wound.

Law enforcement agencies actively searched for Hash.

She was eventually located, arrested, and taken to the Ticonderoga Police Department for further questioning.

Hash was later transported to SP Schroon Lake for processing and arraigned in the Town of Moriah Court and was remanded to Essex County Jail.
